Thank you for all your warm replies and comments. I am just so glad I finally found the time to get this GSA Tribute album done. I wanted to have it done by March 12th; which was the official 94th Birthday of Girl Scouts as well as Girl Scout Sunday. This month of Cookie Booth Sales has had me in a "tither".
Although I made DD's uniform when she was a Brownie. My major sewing days have diminished quite a bit! HA!... not much patience anymore.
I bought all my AG dollie uniforms from various Ebay sellers. Actually that is what got me started into AG. I first bought an AG sized Brownie Uniform off Ebay, won Cynthia Dianne....and the rest is history....23 dollies later, 7 GSA uniforms, <font size="5">"oddles"</font> of clothes, accesssories, etc, etc....HA!

I loved the GS uniforms!!! I have been a leader since my girls were Daisys and they are now first year Juniors. We just did a "vintage" fashion show last week to earn a badge. Wish I would have had some AG Girl Scout fashions to model as well! You must keep very busy with all those patches, looks like you've done a lot.

Ironically, I was never a member of the Girl Scouts, however, I was entreated and did joing the Boy Scouts. The Boy Scouts were the sponsors of Explorer's Post which was for the top scoring science and math students in our school. Ahhhhh....the memories. I have great stories of mischeivousness!

What a wonderful Album! Not only fun but very informative. I have a question, where did you get the uniforms-my DD saw the pics and she wants a Dasiy uniform for her Kit. Thanks

Great album! I never knew much about Girl Scouts or how they got started. Pretty appropriate album for Women's History month too!

Great album, Sheila! It's a little bittersweet for me, seeing all those uniforms and insignia. I was a Scout from 1980 to 1990, and I had tons and tons and tons of badges-- no try-its or Daisies back then-- and activity patches. I even had high-in-council (Black Diamond Girl Scout Council) awards for Cookie Sales when I was in sixth grade.
I say had because all of my Girl Scout stuff, including my mess kit (just like Molly's!), knife and camping gear, was lost when my mom's house burned to the ground in 2001.
It makes me sad, but happy at the same time, because even without all the "stuff," I have so many wonderful memories of my girlhood that centered around Scouting. It does my heart good to know you & your daughter are creating the same memories for her!

Love seeing the US girl scout uniforms, they're so different to the ones we had. Your girls look so pretty in them.
Our girl scouts/boy scouts have their origins in the UK, their founder being Robert Baden-Powell, who started the scouts in 1907. I did a quick google and learned that he was actually once engaged to Juliette Gordon Low. Thought that was quite interesting.
